Mathematics

At Winwick CE, we follow the National Curriculum and use White Rose Maths to support our delivery of Mathematics across the school, with lessons including a range of varied fluency and reasoning and problem solving.  Children are given the opportunity to explore Mathematics through the use of resources (concrete), through visual representations (pictorial) and also through developing their abilities to engage with mental maths and develop their understanding so that they are able to do this in their heads (abstract).  You can find out more about Mathematics at Winwick below.

PARENTS WORKSHOP GA.pptx

As a school, we use the White Rose Maths Scheme of Learning to support our delivery of Mathematics.  We understand that many parents feel like maths has changed and that it’s sometimes difficult to keep up to date with modern teaching methods.  White Rose have produced a set of fantastic short videos that unpick Mathematics and give an excellent overview for parents/carers.  Please follow the link below to find out more...

White Rose have also shared a range of lessons that are suitable for home learning specific to each year group.  There are great to help you understand what Mathematics looks like in your child's year group and can support you with the different concepts that the children are covering in class so that you are able to support them at home too.  If you would like to sample the White Rose curriculum for your child's year group, click on the link below and select their year group from the drop-down menu (New Scheme).
