Letter to Our Reception Class 2026

New Starter Letter to Parents 2026

“Pupils enjoy attending this friendly, caring school. They are proud to be part of its community. The core values of love, perseverance and respect thread through all aspects of school life. These values encourage pupils to rise to the school’s high expectations for their achievement. Pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), achieve well. They are well prepared for the next stage of their education.”– Ofsted rated ‘Good’, October 2023

"The Christian vision and its associated values underpin the purpose of the curriculum. They serve as a moral and ethical compass, guiding pupils’ development and decision making. This ensures that learning is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about developing character and values." - SIAMS, October 2023

"Could I on behalf of NFER thank you for your warm welcome during my recent visit to your school. Your member of staff supporting the assessments demonstrated her care, knowledge and skills for the children. The pupils are a credit to you all. I feel confident that the teaching and learning opportunities which your pupils receive will prepare them for a successful future."- C.Calderbank - RBA Quality Monitor the Reception Baseline Assessments for NFER, September 2024

Welcome to Our New Reception Class of 2026!

On behalf of everyone at Winwick Church of England Primary School, we'd like to say a huge WELCOME to all our new Reception 2026 children and their families!

Now that you have a confirmed place for your child at Winwick, our office team will be getting touch (sending out a pack of information via post) to welcome you officially and outline the next steps for you and your child so that everyone is ready for the September start.

There are various transition events to help you all become a part of our Winwick family, starting with a welcome meeting for you as parents to meet our wider staff, Governor and PTFA team. At this meeting, we will go through what to expect when your child starts with us, as well as collecting our welcome gift for your child. Details about this meeting will be in your letter.

In addition to this welcome meeting, we will also be holding some transition sessions in the summer term which will give you child the opportunity to come into school and spend time with their new teachers, as well as there being some additional 'stay and play' sessions too. All these transition event details will be sent out in a welcome letter with the relevant dates, etc.

Our wonderful Reception staff team will also arrange sessions to meet with you as a family at home if you would like them to do a home visit and they will also contact the feeder nurseries to chat with their key workers to find out more about your child, as well as arranging a visit to go and meet your child in their nursery setting.

We have put together a range of information below, for both you as adults and also for your child, so it will hopefully answer any questions you may have prior to filling in an application.

If you do have further questions, then don't hesitate to email/ call school and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
